A Pre-designed Eclectic Curriculum is a curriculum that has already been created by educational experts or organisations. It draws from multiple educational philosophies, methodologies, and resources, combining them into a cohesive program. The curriculum is structured and planned out in advance, often with specific goals, materials and lesson plans that guides the educator through a set of predetermined steps. An Eclectic Approach is more of a teaching philosophy or strategy where the educator selects and combines elements from various educational theories, methods and resources to tailor their teaching to the needs of the student. Unlike the Pre-designed curriculum, an eclectic approach is not rigidly structured. It allows the educator to adapt and choose the best methods, activities and materials for the student.
